These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the vehicle inspection and appraisal services provided by Precision Auto Inspect LLC (“Precision Auto Inspect,” “PAI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking a service through our website, by phone, or by any other channel, you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not book a service.
1. Services
Precision Auto Inspect LLC provides independent, mobile vehicle inspection and appraisal services in the Eugene, Oregon region and surrounding areas, including pre-purchase inspections, classic and exotic vehicle inspections, diesel and hybrid/EV inspections, end-of-warranty inspections, RV and trailer inspections, vehicle appraisals. Inspections are performed at the vehicle’s location by an inspector with more than 15 years of professional inspection experience.
2. Booking and Scheduling
Appointments are scheduled through our online booking system, by phone at (541) 357-8066, or by other arrangement with us. Booking lead time is typically same day to one to two days out, subject to availability. An appointment is confirmed once we have accepted the booking and any required payment or payment arrangement is in place. Appointment times are estimates; traffic, weather, and the condition of vehicles inspected earlier in the day may shift arrival times, and we will communicate material delays when we can.
3. Fees and Payment
- Service prices are those published on our website at the time of booking, plus any fees disclosed during booking.
- Travel fee: the first 15 road miles from our Eugene-area base are included. Beyond 15 miles, a travel fee of $1.00 per one-way mile applies, capped at $125. Travel fees are calculated and disclosed at booking whenever the inspection location is known.
- Weekend fee: a $50 fee applies to standard inspections performed on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Expedited service: same-day expedited report delivery, when offered and selected, carries a $50 fee.
- Payment is due as arranged at booking — before or at the time of the inspection unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept the payment methods offered through our booking and invoicing systems.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $75 cancellation fee. If we have already departed for your appointment when it is cancelled, applicable travel/mileage charges also apply. If we must cancel an appointment, any prepaid amount for the cancelled service will be refunded or credited, at your choice.
5. Customer Responsibilities
- You are responsible for arranging access to the vehicle at the scheduled time and location, including any permission required from the seller, dealer, or property owner.
- You must provide a safe, legal location for the inspection with enough space to open doors, hood, and trunk/hatch and to perform a short road test where conditions allow.
- If the vehicle cannot be accessed, cannot legally or safely be driven, or the seller refuses the inspection when we arrive, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation under Section 4.
6. Inspection Scope and Limitations
- An inspection is a visual and operational evaluation of the vehicle’s condition at the time of inspection only. It is not a guarantee, warranty, or prediction of future condition or reliability, and it does not certify that the vehicle will pass any government inspection or emissions test.
- Inspections are non-invasive. We do not disassemble components, remove covers that require tools beyond ordinary access, or perform repairs. Some systems and conditions — including internal engine, transmission, and differential wear — cannot be fully evaluated without disassembly and are assessed only as far as observable symptoms, road-test behavior, and diagnostic scan data allow.
- Where a diagnostic scan is performed, reported fault codes and live data reflect what the vehicle’s systems reported at the time of the scan.
- Areas that are inaccessible, obstructed, or unsafe to evaluate at the time of inspection will be noted as limitations in the report.
7. Reports and Deliverables
- Reports are typically delivered electronically in less than 24 hours after the inspection; expedited delivery is available as described in Section 3.
- Deliverables may include a written report, a photo gallery, and, where applicable, video links, delivered electronically.
- Our reports present findings, measurements, and limitations. We do not make purchase recommendations — the decision to buy or not buy a vehicle is entirely yours.
- Cost figures in a report, where included for significant items, are good-faith estimates for planning purposes only and are not quotes. Always obtain a firm quote from a repair facility before relying on a figure.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Oregon law, Precision Auto Inspect LLC’s total liability arising from any service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including the purchase price of any vehicle, repair costs, or loss of use, whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Photos, Video, and Media Rights
We photograph and video vehicles during inspections as part of the service record. All photographs, videos, and other media we create during an inspection — and the inspection report itself — are the property of Precision Auto Inspect LLC, and we retain all rights to them.
You may download and use the report, photos, and videos from your own inspection for your personal purposes — for example, sharing them with a seller, a mechanic, an insurer, or family. You may not sell them or use them for commercial purposes.
We may use inspection photos and videos for business purposes, including our website, social media, and advertising, only with identifying information removed or obscured — including license plates, VINs, faces, and personal information — as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oregon.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking governs that booking. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
